Kelly Gale, a relative new face, spoke with Vogue Australia about her career so far. Here are our highlights:
What was it like meeting Karl Lagerfeld?
The first time I met him was actually at the fitting the night before the show. I was in my outfit and they showed me to him so he could give the outfit an okay. I think there were four or five other models there, he looked at everyone else and then he asked me to stay. He said to me ‘You’re really beautiful’.
I read that it was once your dream to walk for Victoria’s Secret. How did you feel when you heard you’d been cast in the show?
Oh it was the best feeling ever. It was the best moment of my life. I was so happy; I worked really hard for it. I hope to do the casting again in October this year.
Are you friends with any of the other Victoria’s Secret models?
Yeah, I became really good friends with Devon [Windsor] and Sara [Sampaio]. We all walked the show for the first time so we were a bit nervous and got together backstage.
Recently some of the Victoria’s Secret models named Adriana Lima as the fittest of them all. Would you agree with that?
On definitely. I’ve worked out with Adriana a few times since we have the same boxing trainer, Michael. I think we have the same mentality when it comes to working out and doing anything really; if you want to do it, you give it your all. Never do anything half-half.
